Get More Mileage from Your Content by Repurposing It: Part Two

The Donor Attraction Letter

OK, I’m back this week to finish up last week’s list of top tips on how you can repurpose your content to help maximize its impact and reinforce key messages with your supporters.

Here we go!

Round Up Popular Articles

Create a blog post or newsletter piece that features your most popular/helpful articles all in one place. This post would give readers a quick snapshot of your most important content and easily link over to those articles on your website.

Use a New Lead

Take something from an original article that’s particularly meaningful or helpful and make that the “hook” for a new article. Include additional information, quotes, explanations, and a fresh (or reinforced) call to action.

Showcase Event Highlights

That fabulous, heartwarming speech made by a beloved honoree at your gala? Write about it and include a video link in your e-newsletter and via social media. There are so many memorable moments at your special events. Be sure to use these as content in your communications.

Update Articles with Reader Comments

For any blog or Facebook post that got a lot of comments, tag on to the content by incorporating and expanding on some of those comments. People are curious about how others react to content you put out, so this is a great way to generate more interest and response with your supporters.

Build Content Around Conversations + Feedback

Did a major donor share an interesting story about why she’s so passionate about giving? Did you receive a touching note from a grateful member or supporter? Maybe a grantor gave you praise for outstanding results you helped achieve? Turn these important touch points into content that helps boost readers’ confidence in their decision to be a part of your nonprofit.

Post Your Best Pics

Pictures from your program workshops, fundraising events, or volunteer meet-ups make for some truly high-impact content. Whip up some brief copy to go with the pics and voila! You’ve got a crowd-pleasing article or social media post that’s sure to bring on the smiles and warm fuzzies, too.

All right, that’ll do it for today’s post!
